Discreet treatment
Less-visible attachment options
Attachments help Invisalign move teeth predictably, but they do not always need to be placed on the most visible surfaces. When clinically appropriate, Dr. Lee may place selected attachments behind the teeth to make treatment less noticeable.
These are sometimes called behind-the-teeth, or lingual, attachments. Whether they suit your case depends on which teeth need to move and how — some movements need an attachment on the outward-facing surface to work reliably, and in those places we will use one and tell you why.

What we can and cannot say
- Attachments are planned for visibility as well as function.
- Behind-the-teeth placement is used on selected teeth, for selected movements, when clinically appropriate.
- Not every attachment can be hidden, and we will say so upfront.
Doctor-designed
Your treatment is designed by Dr. Lee.
Dr. Lee sets the goals for your case and designs how the teeth should move to reach them. Digital software is a visualization tool — it renders the movement he has directed so it can be checked and refined. It does not design your smile.
Every clinical decision, and the finished result being worked toward, is his.
Detailed finishing
The last details are the ones people notice
Your progress is reviewed throughout treatment. Additional refinement aligners may be recommended when they meaningfully improve alignment, bite, smile balance, or the final details.
Depending on the case, finishing may also involve discussing minor edge reshaping, whitening, gum-level review, or retention. These are elective and case-by-case — not steps every patient needs, and never assumed.

A digital scan, photographs, the X-rays your case calls for, and an examination covering teeth, gums, and bite.

Personalized planning
Tooth movement, smile and bite goals, gum considerations, attachment strategy, sequence, and the plan's limits.

Treatment begins
Attachments are placed where the plan needs them and you begin wearing your aligners as directed.

Monitoring and adjustment
Progress is reviewed against the plan, and the plan is adjusted based on how your teeth are actually moving.

Refinement and finishing
Additional aligners may be recommended where they meaningfully improve the result, along with any finishing steps worth discussing.

Retention
Retainers protect what treatment achieved. Teeth can shift over a lifetime, so retention is ongoing rather than a final step.

Your aligners are planned by the dentist who looks after everything else
Existing fillings, crowns, and veneers can be taken into account while the plan is built, gum health is monitored throughout, and any restorative work can be sequenced so it happens in a sensible order rather than being redone afterwards.
If whitening or conservative cosmetic finishing makes sense at the end, it can be coordinated as part of the same plan — and the result is assessed for how it functions as well as how it looks.
